MAAC Players---Sarah Jackson, Iona

*Updated 10/2/11*
Sarah was the MAAC's Pitcher of the Year in 2010 with an 18-8 record and 1.96 ERA, leading the Gaels to the MAAC Championship.
In 2011, Sarah had another outstanding season, with a 17-9 record and 2.05 ERA, including a stunning extra innings win at nationally ranked Hawai'i. She led the Gaels to their second consecutive conference title, lifting her team out of the loser's bracket in the MAAC Tournament by beating Fairfield twice in one day with complete game gems. Sarah will attempt in 2012 to lead the Gaels to a third consecutive championship, a feat accomplished only by Canisius.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sarah began her college career in great fashion in 2009 by being named MAAC Co-Rookie Of The Year and making the All-MAAC second team. The Citrus Heights (CA) native led the MAAC in ERA with a 1.62 mark. She was sixth in strikeouts with 138 in 125 innings pitched. Her record was 10-11, mainly because of not much offensive support. A good example was against Canisius last April where she allowed only 2 runs, but lost the game 2-0 to Mallory Aldred. She also pitched a one hitter against Temple and lost. In total she only allowed 76 runs, but her team only scored 76 while she was pitching.

Sarah starred at Del Campo High School in Fair Oaks (CA) where she was 3-time MVP, and 3-time All-City as well as Capital Athletic MVP and Pitcher Of The Year her senior season. She also played travel ball for the California Breeze 18U who made it to 2nd place in the nation.

Sarah Jackson is going to be a force the rest of the MAAC will have to reckon with the next three years.
