Canisius hit 4 triples on a windy day at the Demske Sports Complex in Buffalo, NY and won both games of a MAAC doubleheader against the Siena Saints.

Canisius opened the scoring in game one when leadoff hitter Lauren Hope started the first inning by hitting a triple, and then scored on a Michelle Fridey (pictured) single. Michelle would then widen the Golden Griffins lead to 6-0 with a bases loaded triple in the 4th inning, scoring herself on an errant throw. Amanda Baun went the distance for Canisius, allowing 4 hits and striking out 8. Paige Freiberger also tripled for the Griffs; Michelle Fridey finished with 4 RBIs. Courtney Mahan had a pair of hits for the Saints.

Canisius also opened the scoring in the 1st inning of game 2 when Lizzy Gatto scored on an Amanda Filippazzo wild pitch. Siena battled back to tie the score in the top of the 3rd inning when Shannon Jones drove home Amanda Ferro with a single. But Canisius broke the game open with 4 runs in the bottom of the same inning when Lizzy Gatto scored on another wild pitch and Katie Lancellotti singled home 2 runs then scored herself on an Emily Helbig double. A Kerry Ulmer triple brought home 2 more runs for Canisius in the 5th inning. Caroline Main went the distance for the Golden Griffins and struck out a career best 10 batters.

Canisius is now 3-1 in MAAC play; 17-13 overall. Siena is 0-2 in the MAAC; 4-27 overall.
