Game One Box Score
Game Two Box Score

The Iona Gaels held on to first place in the MAAC with a doubleheader sweep of Siena Saturday at the Rice Oval in New Rochelle, NY.

Game one saw another stellar performance by Iona ace Sarah Jackson (pictured). The Gaels gave her one run in the first inning, off an Allyssa James RBI, and she took care of the rest. Sarah allowed only six hits, walked no one, and struck out eleven en route to her 11th victory. Amanda Filippazzo pitched very well for Siena, allowing only three hits herself, but found no offensive support behind her.

Deanne Algeo started the second game for Iona and did a great job, allowing only four hits while walking no one. Melanie Gettins had two RBIs; Eileen McCann, Allyssa James, and Melanie Hay each had a RBI to give the Gaels five runs and the sweep.

Iona is now 6-0 in the MAAC; 18-15 overall. Siena dropped to 0-4; 7-30.
