Game One Box Score
Game Two Box Score

Teresa Healy (pictured) raised her MAAC leading average to .439 by hitting 4 for 5; Iona clinched a spot in MAAC Tournament with the split.

Here was a matchup of two MAAC powers, and don't count against these two teams meeting again this season. Iona's Sarah Jackson and Niagara's Julie DiMatteo pitched shutout ball in game one until the 6th inning when a couple of errors cost Niagara dearly. Jodi Petersen and Eileen McCann both scored on a botched rundown giving the Gaels a 2-0 lead. In the 7th inning, the Gaels scored again when with the bases loaded, Jodi was hit by a pitch. The Purple Eagles attempted to comeback in the 7th when Kayla Hines hit a 2 run home run, but the rally fell short.

Game two was all Niagara as they unleashed their offense by scoring 10 runs in 4 innings, led by a Teresa Healy 2 run homer. Kayla Hines drove home 3 runs, giving her 5 RBIs for the day; Jenna Baker drove home a pair as well.

Very likey these two teams will meet again at Canisius in less than two weeks. Iona is now 11-1 in the MAAC; 23-20 overall. Niagara is 7-3; 17-17.
