Brittany Eckett (pictured) hit her 10th homer of the season to lead Rider to a win in game one ; Natasha Powlowsky doubled in the winning run for Siena in game two Sunday at Lawrenceville, NJ.

Brittany Eckett and Heather Muscara homered for Rider in game one to give the Broncs a 2-1 lead before they exploded for five runs in the 6th inning to win going away. Lucy Higgins hit a pair of RBI doubles in the contest.

The game one win set up the Broncs to attempt the sweep, which they badly wanted in order to give them a better chance at qualifying for the tournament. They couldn't do it, but they gave it their all down to the last out in extra innings. Rider struck quickly in the 1st inning with a Brittany Eckett RBI single, and a Candice Harris steal of home. Siena's Jessica Mushel doubled home 2 runs in the top of the 2nd inning to tie the game right up. Lyndsey McKeever in the 5th, and Alyssa Sceppaguercio in the 6th drove in single runs to give the Saints a 4-2 lead.

The Broncs would not give up, and tied the game in the bottom of the 7th inning when Candice Harris doubled home 2 runs. The game went to extra innings. In the 8th, Nastasha Powlowsky hit her double and Lyndsey McKeever singled home another run. Rider loaded the bases with 2 outs in the bottom of the inning, but could not score.

Rider is now 6-8 in the MAAC; 14-31-1 overall; Siena is 5-7; 12-35.
