Sophomore Amanda Filippazzo (pictured) won twice Saturday vs. Marist at Loudonville, NY and helped the Saints get back in the race to qualify for the MAAC Tournament.

The Saints have reason to be optimistic about their future due to talented young players on the roster, and more coming this fall, but they still have a lot to play for this season. Freshman Shannon Jones had a fantastic game one, hitting 3 for 6 with a home run and 6 RBIs. Amanda Filippazzo pitched the complete game for the win.

Siena pulled off a come from behind victory in game two, scoring twice in the bottom of the 7th inning. Down 2-1, the Saints loaded the bases and tied the game with an Alyssa Sceppaguercio single. Shannon Jones then drove home the winning run on a fielder's choice, giving her 7 RBIs for the day. Amanda Filippazzo pitched the final 4 innings for her second win of the day.

Siena is now 4-6 in the MAAC, and only one game out of the final qualifying spot. They are 11-34 overall. Marist falls to 2-8; 6-31.
