Niagara 6
Morgan St. 5

St. Francis Box Score

2010 MAAC Player Of The Year Teresa Healy (pictured) clubbed 3 homers Friday at the UMBC Spring Classic in Baltimore, MD and in the process became the all-time Niagara home run hitter.

Teresa Healy had a great day hitting 4 for 7 with 3 home runs and 6 RBIS along with breaking her sister Tory's home run record. The Purple Eagles jumped out of the gate early when Teresa hit her first homer, a 2 run shot that scored Kristin Sito who had doubled, in the 1st inning against St. Francis. Alexis Wayne singled home Becky Zill, who also doubled, in the same inning. In the 3rd inning, Niagara led off with a pair of solo homers, first by Teresa Healy, then Becky Zill. Teresa Healy would add another RBI in the 4th inning, and Sarah Anthon singled another home in the 5th. Bri Allen improved her record to 3-0.

After falling behind 1-0 to Morgan St., Becky Zill hit her second homer of the day, a 2 run shot that scored Maggie McDonald, to give Niagara the lead after an inning. Niagara seemed to be cruising when in the 5th Teresa Healy hit another homer, this time for 2 runs. But a crucial 2 out error by pitcher Kim Bryson led to 4 Morgan St. runs in the 6th inning, and suddenly Niagara was down 5-4. Niagara loaded the bases in the bottom of the 7th, and a 2 out error brought home the tying and winning runs.

Niagara improves to 6-4 on the season, and will continue in Baltimore with a pair of games Saturday.
