Top MAAC Freshmen Of 2011

As we enter the final week of the regular season, let's take a look at the freshmen who have made an impact in 2011.

Rae Ball, Fairfield

Rae is a versatile player, hitting .289 with 22 RBIs; she has a 5-2 record as a pitcher.

Haley Birnbaum, Marist


Haley has 8 home runs and 36 RBIs this season, helping lead the resurgent Red Foxes.

Katie Bowen, Manhattan

Katie is hitting .308 and has performed well in the clutch. She is also 3-1 in the circle.

Kim Bryson, Niagara

Kim has a record of 9-7 with 107 strikeouts. She has been among the ERA leaders all season.

Jen Consaul, Canisius

Jen stepped into a starting role after injuries and performed admirably with a 7-3 record. She is among the ERA leaders in conference games.

Kristen Filicia, Fairfield

Kristen has been productive as a lead off hitter with a .325 average and 27 stolen bases.

Katie Jansson, Iona

Katie is hitting .272 with 16 runs scored.

Kimi Kurata, Fairfield


Kimi's hitting .252 with 4 home runs.

Paige Lewis, Marist


Paige leads all MAAC hurlers with 15 wins.

Lauren Liseth, Fairfield

Lauren has been the backbone of the Stags' attack, hitting .331 with 6 homers, 32 RBIs and 12 doubles.

Valorie Nappo, Canisius

Val is hitting .266 with 9 doubles, and has committed no errors in the field.

Samantha Ray, Siena


Samantha is an excellent bunter who sports a .288 average.

Jessika-Jo Sandrini, Siena

Jessika-Jo does it all---a .388 hitter with an 11-8 record in the circle and an ERA of 2.88.

Mikayla Shumate, Fairfield

Mikayla is a .285 hitter who has stolen 10 bases and scored 23 runs.

Kehli Washington, Rider

Kehli has been the Broncs' leading hitter all season, and is currently at .286.

Alyssa Zahka, Marist

Alyssa has shown consistent power, hitting 5 home runs and driving home 31.
