Purple Eagles Open Season At Frost Classic

The Niagara Purple Eagles will open their 2012 softball season today at the Frost Classic in Chattanooga, TN. They will be playing Tennessee-Martin, Purdue, Valparaiso, East Tennessee State and host Tennessee-Chattanooga.

The Purple Eagles begin life without all-time great Teresa Healy, but still have a talented team including junior All-MAAC catcher Becky Zill. Niagara will have experienced starting pitchers with seniors Julie DiMatteo and Bri Allen and sophomore Kim Bryson in the circle. The team will have six freshmen on the roster, and start three of them in the outfield.
