Matreale Strikes Out 11 In Win

Total control

Rider 2
Drexel 0

Just in...
Rachael Matreale's two hitter led the Rider Broncs to a 2-0 win over Drexel this afternoon in Lawrenceville, NJ.

Rachael struck out 11 Dragons in the game, walking only three. She did not allow a hit until the 5th inning, and did not allow a runner past second base in a game which saw her in complete control. Rider got a run in the fourth inning after Sam Pugh doubled home Gina McCool who had led off with a double of her own. The Broncs added a run in the fifth inning courtesy of Samantha Mayer's homer over the left field fence.

The Broncs improved their record to 2-8, and play the second game of the doubleheader shortly.
