The Fairfield Stags pounded home 20 runs in a doubleheader sweep of St. Peter's Saturday in Jersey City, NJ.

Game one of this series was close for a while, with the Stags holding on to a 3-0 lead after six innings...but after that, Fairfield went on a tear that saw them score 17 runs in six innings. Lauren Liseth began a big day by opening the fourth inning with a home run over the center field fence. Lauren has raised her level of play in the past few weeks. Brianna Levick hit a solo homer of her own in the fifth inning, followed by a Nikki Osofsky RBI in the sixth. Then the Stags began scoring runs hand over fist, beginning with Rae Ball's three run shot in the seventh inning of game one. Becca Trott picked up the win with a two hit shutout performance, striking out a dozen Peahens.

Game two was a total blowout, beginning with Lauren Liseth's three run home run in the second inning. Everyone in the Fairfield hitting lineup contributed in one way or another; the Stags got 12 hits in the five innings they played. Rae Ball got the easy win, striking out seven.

Fairfield moved to 6-4 with the wins. St. Peter's dropped to 1-7.
