The Niagara Purple Eagles unleashed their bats in a doubleheader sweep of St. Peter's in Jersey City, NJ Sunday.

The Peahens jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game one then watched Niagara score the next 21 runs in this MAAC doubleheader. The Purple Eagles had a lot big performances in the first game. Jaclyn Russell was a perfect 4 for 4; Gabby Lustrinelli drove home four runs, three of them with a bases loaded triple; and Jessica Hitchcock was 3 for 5 with a pair of RBIs. Kim Bryson picked up the win for Niagara, throwing a three hitter. Shelby Beaver suffered the loss.

Game two saw Niagara explode with a seven run second inning to win going away in a run rule five innings. Junior Alexis Wayne slammed two home runs in the game, and tied Teresa Healy's record for single game RBIs. Bri Allen pitched a two hitter for the win.

Niagara improved to 5-7; St. Peter's fell to 1-13.
