Ali VanGiesen Commits To Niagara

Courtesy of the Auburn Citizen

Ali VanGiesen of Auburn, NY has verbally committed to play softball at Niagara University beginning in the 2014 season.

Ellie Chan keeps on stockpiling great young pitchers; this time it's Ali VanGiesen, a strikeout pitcher who also can hit. Ali pitches for Auburn High School, where in 2012 she compiled a 16-3 record, to go along with a 1.26 ERA. For her career, Ali has struck out 436 batters; last season she hit double digit Ks in nine games, including a 16 strikeout performance. But Ali is also a great at the plate, hitting .600 last season. She's a good runner too, stealing 14 bases in 2012. She plays her travel ball with the Battery Lightning Gold.

 Congratulations Ali!
