Fairfield Stuns Maryland

Fairfield 9
Maryland 8

The Fairfield Stags staged a late inning comeback to upset the ACC's Maryland Terps Saturday night at the Citrus Classic in Orlando, FL.

I don't know much about what happened in this game, except that I was getting live scores. The Stags took a 2-0 lead in the first thanks to Kristen Filicia's home run. They eventually fell behind 4-3 headed to the sixth inning when Rae Ball hit a three run homer to give the Stags the lead once more. Maryland tied the game in the bottom of the sixth, but RBIs by Sammy Ruffolo and Kristen Filica, and a couple of UM errors gave Fairfield the lead back. The Terps tried to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh, but fell a run short. Becca Trott allowed all eight Maryland runs, but only four of them were earned, and she picked up the win.

Actually Rae ball hit the three run homerun. The Fairfield site is in error

Thanks. I'll get the details eventually.
Just imagine this happening with Fairfield men's basketball team. Unimaginable.

I don't tweet so I could not reply that way. Asking Bidget Hogan to: Hurry up because Niagara needs her?? Wow... I think that, that is a huge insult to the Niagara team & pitchers. As far as Niagara needing Bridget Hogan.... you can never have to much pitching! That comment is a huge disservice to Bridget. Being a star in High School does not make you a star at the D1 level. It would be wise for her to work hard & arrive at Niagara with a humble attitude. Niagara will be just fine with Kim, Jen & Syd this year. Kim & Jen are PROVEN winners & Syd is looking better everyday. Feel free to post this on the twitter page. My daughter does play for Niagara but she is not a pitcher. Purp Pride runs deep.... when our team or girls are slighted we take it personal. I do enjoy your site thoroughly & have stated that many times. Have a great day!
