|A win in the circle and 3 RBIs for freshman Lauren Falkanger|
The Fairfield Stags began their west coast trip in San Diego, CA Tuesday with a pair of wins which featured great pitching.
Lauren Liseth continued her incredible junior season with a four RBI day, beginning in the first inning of today's first game vs. Bryant. That inning featured two triples, both which produced RBIs, by Kristen Filicia and Lauren. Bryant cut that lead in half in the top of the sixth inning, but in the bottom of the same inning, Lauren Liseth got the run back with an RBI double. Becca Trott was stellar in picking up the win, pitching six innings and striking out six. Rae Ball pitched the seventh inning to earn the save, and struck out three. Lauren Liseth and Kristen Filicia both had two hits.
The Stags' second game of the day, against Southern Utah, was a showcase for freshman pitcher Lauren Falkanger. She cruised through a complete game victory, allowing just one run on six hits. But that wasn't all. Lauren helped her own cause by driving home her team's first three runs, and was 2 for 3 at the plate. Have to love the "double trouble" pitchers. Of course, it wouldn't be a Fairfield game if Lauren Liseth didn't get in on the action. And she did, driving home a pair of runs in the fourth inning to give her four on the day. She leads the MAAC in hitting, home runs and RBIs. Tiffany Lawson was 2 for 3 in this game. The Stags stay in San Diego, and play Texas Tech on Wednesday.
