Alyssa Ruiz Signs With St. Peter's

Alyssa Ruiz of Howell, NJ has signed a national letter of intent to play softball at St. Peter's University beginning in the 2014 season.

St. Peter's continues to rebuild from the circle out with another signing of a fine pitcher. Alyssa Ruiz just completed her senior year at Howell High School in New Jersey, and was named to the All-New Jersey Shore team. In 2013, Alyssa finished with a record of 16-8 and a 2.03 ERA. She plays travel ball with the Howell Heat.

Saint Peter’s University is searching for a head coach, softball. This is a part-time position within the Department of Athletics at Saint Peter’s University. Saint Peter’s sponsors 19 intercollegiate athletics programs and competes in the NCAA Division I and in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). The Head Softball Coach reports to the Director of Athletics or his designee.

The Head Coach is responsible for organizing and directing all aspects of the softball program, including the following key responsibilities:

Instruction, training and practice planning and execution;
Identification and recruitment of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes;
Ensuring student-athletes welfare;
Assisting with team-related administrative duties such as:

scheduling; equipment purchasing; travel arrangements; budgeting; fundraising and supervision of the academic progress of team members;

Adherence to all rules and requirements of the NCAA, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and Saint Peter’s University
