More Coaching Shake Ups In The MAAC

Ranae Bart will not be returning as head coach of St. Peter's. As of this writing, her replacement has not been hired. Whether she resigned, or was terminated is not known at this time. I'll update the situation when/if more information becomes available.

Thanks for the information!

If she resigned 7 weeks ago, why did the school put an ad for a head coach just last week knowing the fall season starts any day? Makes no sense, they must have just found out.

I was aware something was up weeks ago, but these things seem to be top secret nowadays!

THIS IS SAD!!!! THE GIRLS HAVE NO COACH NO PRACTICE NO TEAM BONDING AND NO D1 GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!! WHEN WILL SOMEONE STEP UP AND HELP THIS TEAM PREPARE?

Concerns me also...the team ended on such a high note last season, and they have talented freshmen coming aboard. I hope this gets resolved quickly.

Can't wait to actually get to talking softball. Ridiculous off season

WNY softball,
Can you tell me who these freshman coming aboard are or even anything about them? I was very impressed that they knocked Iona out of the playoffs last season in the final game.
Thanks,
an interested coach

Yes, the big signing for St. Peter's was probably Joelle Morey, a pitcher, who was All-Pennsylvania. Joelle was actually pursued by Canisius, but chose to stay closer to home. They also signed a couple other pitchers, and went out of state to pick up two promising prospects. They are all written about in this blog; you can find the articles by searching "St. Peter's" in the blog search.

Of course, one never knows how players will make the transition to college ball. But I thought it was a promising recruiting class.

The problem with the St Peter's job is they classify it as part-time and the pay is just 15k/ year. That is unheard of the D1 level. Plus, they expect you to work FT as any other D1 coach. It will be very hard to find someone with experience who can turn this program around.
