The Niagara Purple Eagles will open their 2014 softball season on February 21 at the Elon Tournament with games against the host school, St. Joseph's and UMBC. Niagara will then spend a week in Florida at the Rebel Games, beginning March 1. On the weekend of March 15, the Purple Eagles will play at the UMBC tournament. After a stop at Youngstown State on March 19, Niagara will close out the pre MAAC portion of their schedule at the Robert Morris tournament on March 21.

The Purple Eagles will begin conference play at home vs. local rival Canisius on March 29. They will host new MAAC rival Monmouth on April 26; and play their other new rival, Quinnipiac, on the road May 3. Niagara will have only six home dates in 2014.

Looks like a great schedule ahead!

The purple eagles looked very solid this fall. They have a lot of returning players. The junior and senior class are very solid and I believe all the players are back. Although it was said a few transferred out or quit.

Jen Sansano looked like she's ready for it all this year! the freshman class seems to be a very talented squad coming in. Good luck!
