2014 St. Peter's Softball Schedule

The St. Peter's Peacocks will begin their 56 game 2014 softball season on the weekend of March 1 at the Coastal Carolina tournament. They will then head to Kissimmee, Florida for a series of 16 games at the Rebel Spring Games, including a rare out of conference game vs. MAAC foe Siena. St. Peter's will close out the "preseason" portion of their schedule when they participate at the UMBC Classic on the weekend of March 21.

The Peacocks will open conference play on March 29 at Iona, and March 30 at Rider. They will host new MAAC rival Quinnipiac for the first time on April 5. They travel to Monmouth for their first conference doubleheader with that new MAAC team on April 19. St. Peter's will have eight home dates in 2014, including their home opener vs. Wagner on April 3.

I thought Temple was playing one final season?

Temple's softball team no longer exists. Temple cut 7 or 8 sports over a month ago. Niagara is scheduled to play them twice in Florida.

While it stinks that softball was one of the sports cut from Temple Athletics, make sure you do your research. This spring season will be the final season for softball at Temple, and then the team will be done. Seven sports were cut, and as of July 2014 the seven sports which were cut will no longer be varsity sports. It doesn't take effect now...

I remember in 2009 Vermont played their season knowing it was to be the last one.
