Gaels Rewrite Schedule
Iona, still scrambling, has scheduled games in Columbia, SC vs. George Washington and Greensboro. It's been that kind of a season!
Unfortunately, the evil polar vortex has invaded Greensboro, and forced the cancellation of this tournament.
As those living in the east know, a cold wave has wreaked havoc on the beginning of the college softball season. After seeing their opening tournament cancelled last week due to the pesky polar vortex, the Iona Gaels have decided, like Marist before them, not to sit around and wait to play. So they have arranged to participate in North Carolina-Greensboro's Blue/Gold Challenge tournament this coming weekend. The schedule is not out yet, but along with the home team, Army and Appalachian St. will also be playing.
Manhattan has rescheduled their three game series at N. Carolina Central for this weekend after last week's cancellation. Unfortunately, Fairfield has seen their opening games cancelled this upcoming weekend. They were scheduled to play in Maryland at Towson's tournament. But they have added four games during their Florida trip in March.
Rider and Monmouth both have had their weekend games cancelled.
